It Is God Who Draws

TRANSCRIPT:

Thank you for being here meeting with God and with his family And if you're busy getting ready for the Super Bowl, just be sure to share the sandwiches with us.

In John chapter 6 verse 44, Jesus says, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."

I don't know about you, but I've been guilty of thinking I could lead someone to Jesus just by reason, or perhaps by emotion. But Jesus tells us that no one can come to him unless God draws them.

Should we witness? Absolutely! Should we reason with others? Paul did so daily. Should we share our own testimony, pulling on the hearts of the lost? Most definitely.

But until the Holy Spirit draws that person, he or she will remain lost. It is our job to plant, and it is our job to water, but it is God who brings the increase.

Let's stand to our feet and prepare our hearts to go before the Lord in worship.

If you don't have any worship animations, you can click-touch the first step of the altar.

Lord God, thank you for your Spirit who is with us here this morning. Thank you that you have drawn each person in this room, under the sound of my voice, or reading the transcript later, to Jesus; for otherwise we would not be here today.

Thank you that it is not your will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, and be reconciled to you.

Meet us here today as we set our minds and hearts upon you.

And it's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Let's worship the Lord together, putting our hearts and minds completely upon him! Click-touch the pulpit for a notecard containing the lyrics, and let's sing to our king together!

HE HAS MADE ME GLAD
I will enter your gates with thanksgiving in my heart
I will enter your courts with praise
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made
I will rejoice for you have made me glad

You have made me glad, you have made me glad
I will rejoice for you have made me glad
You have made me glad, you have made me glad
I will rejoice for you have made me glad

If you haven't experienced this gladness of heart, this oil of joy, this peace that errupts into shouting, your maker's arms are open to you today, and he's calling you to come home!

You know, God isn't looking for people who praise him perfectly according to man's standards; he's looking for people who will praise him in spirit and in truth. He does not require that we please the ears of those around us, but that we make a joyful noise unto him! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord
for he is worthy to be praised
Shout with the spirit, clap with your hands
our God is worthy to be praised

Hallelujah - our God is worthy to be praised
Hallelujah - our God is worthy to be praised

What do we do when the Spirit of God starts stirring us up inside? Religion would have us push him in and shut him up as we act reverent and still. The flesh would have us leave the room and go turn on the TV. But the spirit within us, if we have been born again, would have us worship the Lord with all our might!

King David did just that, and not everyone was happy with him. But he wasn't dancing for people to see, he was dancing before the Lord with all his might. After all, he was a man after God's own heart. So let's follow his example in worship and in our daily lives, not quenching the Spirit of God, but rather worshiping God with everything we have and everything we are.

WHEN THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD
When the Spirit of the Lord moves in my heart
I will sing as David sang
When the Spirit of the Lord moves in my heart
I will sing as David sang
I will sing, I will sing, I will sing as David sang
I will sing, I will sing, I will sing as David sang

Clap...
Dance...
Pray...
Praise...

Sometimes the worries of life can silence our praise. When we're worried about how we're going to pay the bills or even where our next meal is coming from, it's easy to get our eyes off our true source of provision and start sinking in despair and hopelessness.

But God promises us that if he provides food for the birds, certainly he will provide our needs, we who are made in his image and likeness. Scripture tells us, "My God shall supply ALL your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Not only will God supply all our needs as we obey and trust in him, but the measure by which he will supply our needs is NOT based on our needs, but is based on his riches in glory.

One of God's names is "Jehovah Jireh," which means, "God, Our Provider." Taking care of our needs is part of the very nature of God, it is a part of his identity.

So don't let the cares of life get you down... God will always take care of you!

JEHOVAH JIREH
Jehovah Jireh, my provider, his grace is sufficient for me, for me, for me
Jehovah Jireh, my provider, his grace is sufficient for me
My God shall supply all your needs
according to his riches in glory
He gives his angels charge over thee
Jehovah Jireh cares for me for me for me
     Jehovah Jireh cares for me!

TAKE ME INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES
Take me past the outer courts, into the holy place
past the brazen altar, Lord I want to see your face
Take me past the crowd of people, and the priests who sing your praise
I hunger and thirst for your righteousness, and it's only found one place

Take me into the Holy of Holies
take me in by the blood of the Lamb
Take me into the Holy of Holies
take the coal, cleanse my lips, here I am

Lord, we pray this morning, that you draw us to yourself! You said we cannot come to you unless you draw us, and we know, Lord God, that you are pulling us into your arms today! May we stop resisting you! May we stop waiting for some other time; tomorrow may be too late; may we taste the intoxicating wine of your extravegant love for us today!

HAVE YOU SEEN MY LOVER
(taken from the Song of Solomon)
Have you seen my lover
     have you seen him here
Walking down the streets or anywhere
All night long I searched
for the one that my heart loves
He is all I want and all I need

When I find him, I will not let go of him
when I find him, I will hold him close
When I find him, I will not let go of him
when I find him, I will hold him close
And not let go (Jesus hold me close)

You know, the deepest, most passionate and fulfilling love anyone can ever experience is the love relationship between us and Jesus. If you think you've experienced or seen the ultimate love in human relations, you simply have not experienced what God has made available to you.

You were created for this one purpose: You were created to have intimate, daily, moment-by-moment, and eternal fellowship with the One who created you. Everything else in life is meant to be an extension of that one purpose. And when you find and walk daily in that love relationship with God, everything else falls in to place and finally fits together.

If you are saved but have not experienced the level of God's presence in intimate fellowship I'm talking about, this is for you. Jesus said that if we, being evil, give only good things to our children, how much more will God, being good, give the Holy Spirit to those who ask?

Let's push everything else aside and seek after Jesus. And as we focus on Jesus, his Spirit will give us words to speak to others, will form our attitudes, and, most importantly, will draw those around us to him.

COME INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES
Come into the Holy of Holies
enter by the blood of the Lamb
Come into his presence with singing
worship at the throne of God

Lifting holy hands
     to the King of Kings
Worship - Jesus
Worship - Jesus

Lord God, we pray for those who do not know you this morning. We pray that you remove the blinders from their eyes. We pray that you draw them, Holy Spirit, that you reveal Jesus to them. Pour out your Spirit today, do the work that only you can do.

The ministry team can come to the front as we continue to worship.

COME LET US WORSHIP AND BOW DOWN
Come let us worship and bow down
let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker
Come let us worship and bow down
let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker
For he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture
and the sheep of his hand
and the sheep of his hand

If you would like someone to pray with you, please IM one of the ministry team standing accross the front.

DOWN AT YOUR FEET
Down at your feet O Lord
     is the most high place
In your presence Lord
I seek your face, I seek your face
There is no higher calling
     no greater honor
Than to bow
     and kneel before your throne
I'm amazed at your glory
     embraced by your mercy
O Lord, I live to worship you

I STAND IN AWE
You are beautiful beyond description
     too marvelous for words
Too wonderful for comprehension
like nothing ever seen or heard
Who can grasp your infinite wisdom?
who can fathom the depth of your love?
You are beautiful beyond description
     majest enthroned above

I stand, I stand in awe of you
I stand, I stand in awe of you
Holy God to whom all praise is due
I stand in awe of you!

Thank you Lord that you have spoken to us this morning, that you have ministered into our lives as we ministered unto you. May we take your Spirit with us into our day. May we seek your presence at the beginning of every day, so that we walk our lives in the Spirit, and not in the flesh. And most of all, may we seek to draw closer and closer to you so that your Spirit will overflow and spill out onto others, drawing the Lost to Jesus.

And it's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

The altar is open for ministry. We will stay as long as you need ministry. The rest of us can make your way over to the fellowship room, where we will all meet shortly.

May the grace of God be with you all. Amen.
