I LOVE TO BE IN YOUR PRESENCE

I love to be in your presence
with your people singing praises
I love to stand and rejoice
lift my hands and raise my voice

You set my feet to dancing
you fill my heart with song
You give me reason to rejoice,
rejoice!

WE BRING THE SACRIFICE OF PRAISE

We bring the sacrifice of praise
into the house of the Lord
We bring the sacrifice of praise

I want to begin by defining what worthy means. From dictionary.com the word means: having adequate or great merit, character, or value; of commendable excellence or merit; deserving

Synonyms
2. meritorious, worthwhile, estimable, excellent, exemplary, righteous, upright,
honorable.

I am a member of a forum website called TalkJesus. I go there just about daily. There was a post on there about worthiness. I'm going to read a bit from that...just from the original post...the one that started the thread and mine.

And the person writes: Dear reader,

Something popped up in chat, and it's been bothering me. Why do so many Christians not only say, but repeat incessantly, that they aren't worthy of God's love? Is this an actual teaching or just the personal beliefs of some Christians? If it is a teaching, why is it a teaching and how is it a good one?

And I posted and there IS a reason I am sharing this so bare with me :

I think it all depends on how you define the word worthy and the place you are coming from that will shine light onto what it means for each person.

For me, when I say I'm not worthy...it doesn't say ANYTHING about what God did...sending Jesus to die...taking my sin away...etc, but it has EVERYTHING to do with my knowing that I can't save myself or anyone. I am NOT worthy to sit in the presence of God. I am NOT worthy to bow my head...to even kiss His feet...to even touch His hem, BUT thanks be to God there IS something or rather SOMEONE! that makes me worthy...HIM WHO HAS SAVED ME!!! HIM WHO DESERVES ALL PRAISE....The ONLY ONE WHO IS WORTHY!

He who is worthy makes US worthy. To be humble in the sight of God is not wrong.

I think of the woman who brought the alabaster box/jar (I love this story!). For she was NOT WORTHY in the eyes of all around her...maybe even herself...most likely...but she KNEW KNEW KNEW without a doubt that this Jesus man who was in this house was. She brought something so precious. She probably didn't speak much if at all...she broke that alabaster jar and poured the oil on Jesus. The oil that would have been a year's wage...see she wasn't worthy, but the WORTHY ONE was there and she said look at HIM! not me...HIM!

I know that's what I want. I want people to see Jesus and not me. It isn't about my worth...but about His! I know I have worth and value in Jesus, but I don't outshine the WORTH GIVER!! :D

Now let's take a few moments to look at some scripture.

John the Baptist as he is baptizing people he tells them and this is in Matthew chapter 3 "11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.[b]12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

This from a man who was in minstry, but knew who was worthier than himself! He pointed to The Worth Giver! :)

In the story of the Prodigal Son, there are a few times where the son is telling his father that he is no longer worthy to be called his son. It is like that with us at times when we feel like what we have done is so horrible that God could not love us anymore, there is no forgiveness. We have gone to far, can't be saved. It isn't about anything in US that can make us worthy. It is ALL about God..The Worth Giver!

I want to read the whole 5th chapter of Revelation. This is ALL about the Worth Giver! Here we go!

Revelation 5:

The Lamb Takes the Scroll
1 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?" 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.
4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read[a] the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose[b] its seven seals."
6 And I looked, and behold,[c] in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
Worthy Is the Lamb
8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
"You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us[d] kings[e] and priests to our God;
And we[f] shall reign on the earth."
11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice:
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!"
13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
"Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"[g]
14 Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four[h] elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.[i]

My friends, fellow Christians, fellow creations of God...made in His image...let me address you with something.

There is nothing we can do the receive the worthiness that God has. He is the Only One worthy of such an honor! But...the amaing part...He wants us to share in it. He wants to tell us we ARE worthy, we are of value. We are that alabaster box...HIS alabaster box...we are worth so much to Him.

That's why He sent Jesus to die in our place. He exchanged His Son's life for ours. Can't you see how much He loves you and how much He wants you to realize how much worth you have?

He would do ANYTHING ANYTHING to let you know. So, He holds out His hands to you and says...I love you. Here is a wonderful gift. All you have to do is receive it! Will you receive His love? Will you receive the gift that will save your life? Will you acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God...the Messiah...the Savior of the world?

Right now, this moment, get out of your seats and come to the front. Pray for your loved ones, the stanger on the street, the leaders of your country, and lastly for yourself. Pray for a knowing of your worth. If you aren't following Jesus or aren't following Him like you should, reach out to Him. His hands are not far. He will be like the father in the Prodigal Son story and will meet you before you can get to where He is. He is waiting for you so come.

If you are feeling unworthy, maybe sin has blackened your heart and you don't know if you can get clean...or you just know you are the most unworthy person...Jesus couldn't possible want you...In the name of Jesus I rebuke those thoughts right now! You can be clean! You can come!

Come...with YOUR alabaster box...Your life...the thing that is the most precious to you...maybe you come with tears on your face or no words on your lips...come. Jesus will not send you away just like He didn't send away the woman with the alabaster box.

I will be in the altar, too. If you wish to pray or speak with me, please instant message me. I know there will be other staff also. Please instant message one of us. God has been speaking today. Not because it is me speaking, but I am His vessel, His handmaiden...He does what He will through me.

Thank you for coming today. I ask that if you need to leave please do so quietly and with reverance. I ask also that you don't have any conversations in public chat. Thank you.

May God The Worth Giver show you how much He truly loves you and values you. You are precious in His sight!
