I LOVE TO BE IN YOUR PRESENCE

I love to be in Your presence
With Your people singing praises
I love to stand and rejoice
Lift my hands and raise my voice
You set my feet to dancing
You fill my heart with song
You give me reason to rejoice

BLESS THE LORD

I will bless the Lord at all times
I will bless the Lord at all times
His praise shall continually
be in my mouth

I LOVE YOU LORD

I love you, Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You
Oh, my soul rejoice!
Take joy my King
In what You hear
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear

Father God, thank You for this chance to be in Your presence, to soak in the Holy Spirit river, and to dance in the rain that falls from heaven. Lord, open up ears, hearts, and minds to what I am about to say not because it is me, but because I truly believe it is what You want them to hear today. I pray this in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Please be seated.

If you noticed the title for today's fire side chat, you may be thinking “What a weird title!” I hope, however, to explain the title a bit and to help us all have “iHunger.”

Yes, today's title is “iHungry.” Most if not all of us have heard of iphones, ipods, ipads, and the list goes on. Some of you might even have one or more of those. I haven't gotten in to “craze” of owning an “i” technology item yet. :)

I did a bit of research for this fire side chat. I wanted to know if there is such a thing as “iHungry.” Well, there is, but it seems to pertain to mostly the physical hunger one has. I want to talk about the spiritual hunger.

Are you hungry for more of God, His Word, His presence? Do you even know what that is? Well, I'll tell you. It is a hunger for God, His Word, His presence that can't be satisfied by anything else. You can't satisfy this hunger with anything but God, His Word, or His presence.

It's like trying to satisfy physical hunger with playing basketball, watching TV, or reading a novel. It doesn't work! And it doesn't work to try to satisfy our spiritual hunger with worldly or fleshly things. Sin can not satisfy us when our spirit man is hungery. It just doesn't work that way.

There are many things that we can do to satisfy this spiritual hunger. iHunger can be satisfied by reading The Word of God – The Bible, praying, worshiping God. Going to church and participating in the service there will help satisfy the hunger. The more we satisfy the hunger, the hungrier we become, which means we need to continue to draw closer and closer to God, not farther away.

It's like that with physical food. We eat. We get hungry again. We eat again. Same with spiritual hunger. We “eat” God so to speak. We get hungry again. We “eat” Him again.

John 6:51 says, and this is Jesus speaking, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

Of course Jesus isn't saying we are to LITERALLY eat His flesh. :S In John chapter 1 it says that “the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.” Jesus came and He is the Word of God. When we read and “Take in” the words from the Bible it is like “eating” Jesus. It's a bit hard to understand. It isn't a physical eating, but a spiritual. That's why it is important to guard what we read and watch because it will affect our spirit.

Let's look at the Old Testament for a moment. Let's remember the story of the children of Israel in the wilderness. God rains down manna from heaven to feed them. In Deuteronomy 8:3
“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”

We see this verse being use to defeat satan in the book of Matthew. Satan had come to tempt Jesus. Jesus had been without food or water for 40 days. He was thirsty and hungry, so satan, the poor-sport and down right evil guy that he is, used that weakness to tempt the Lord Jesus. But Jesus didn't yield to the liar. Rather Jesus says in Matthew chapter 4 verse 4, “But He (Jesus) answered and said, 'It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”'”

It is as if Jesus is reminding us that we MUST read the Word, The Bread of Life, in order to live and to defeat the enemy. It is a daily thing. You and I eat physical every day. You and I must also eat spiritually every day.

Let me ask you, are you iHungry? Are you hungry for God? For His Word? For His Presence?

Are you iThirsty? Which goes along with iHungry. Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness?

Do you crave God? Yearn for Him? Do you cry out for more of Him? Do you long for Him?

God wants you with Him. He woos us with such passion. He woos us with whispers and a gentleness that can't be found anywhere else.

I know this isn't long, but it was what was on my heart. I want us to grow spiritually. I want us to iHunger after God. :) So much so that we can't hold back our yearning for Him.

Most of you know how I love worship. It is my way of connecting to God. Find your way of connecting to Daddy God. Once you have found it, keep the lines of communication open. If your way is reading The Word, read it ALL the time. Recite. Memorize it. We all could do those things more and more.

I want to encourage you all in this. I want us to be so iHungry for God that people can see it and say, “there is something about you...I can't put my finger on it.”
So are you iHungry?

Today's altar call is pretty simple. We are going to come to this altar to cry out for more of God. Get iHungry for Him. I'm going to worship. I'm going to pray. I'm going to listen to His voice.

If you have a prayer need or need to talk please message one of us on the ministry team and we will help you in any way we can. Or go to almcyberchurch.org and click the Prayer Room or Pastors Offices link.

I want to ask this: Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? Do you have a personal relationship with Him? If yes, that's awesome. If no, what are you waiting for? Today, would you like to take care of that? We can do that now. All you have to do is “confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you shall be saved.” Confess and repent of your sins. Then, tell someone. If you would like help with this, please instant message someone on the ministry team. We'd be honored to help you.

After the time at the altar, we will have a fellowship time in the room to your left with the green couches. Come join us if you can.

Let's all gather at the altar. God is here in this place.
When you need to leave fell free to go. May God bless you and may you iHunger after Him more and more each day.
