What's In You?

It's good to see all of you here today, gathering together from all around the world to celebrate Jesus together.

Some of you are here because you're head over heels in love with Jesus.

Some of you are here today because you're curious to see what a virtual world church service is like.

Some of you are here because you're searching for something.

Some of you are here.... You're just here, you don't know why.

But regardless of what our reasons are for being here today, one thing is certain: you are NOT here by chance, and you are not here by mistake.

God has an awesome plan for your life. He has placed within you gifts that, chances are, you don't even know you have.

You're not just another nameless face. You aren't just part of the crowd. You are not a mistake.

And that's what we're going to talk about today, is YOU, and the amazing things that are inside you that are not inside anyone else on earth, or inside anyone who ever walked the earth, or inside anyone who ever will be.

But first, let's bring our attention to the one who is the reason we exist. He is the reason we have a priceless, unfathomable treasure inside these bodies, that treasure called "You".

Of all the beauty nature displays, of all the seemingly impossible things that mankind has achieved, of all the riches in the universe and all the joys and thrills the most fairy-tale life contains, nothing holds a candle to the unfathomable power, brilliance, majesty, and love of the one who created YOU for the purpose that he could have intimate fellowship with you, and you could have intimate fellowship with him.

God created you so that he could walk with you. He created you so that you could be his friend, and so that he could be yours. He created you so that you can share with him the most intimate, precious, secret corners of your heart and soul with him, and so that he could fill those corners with light, and with love.

There do not need to be any empty spaces inside of you any longer. Those longings and that emptiness inside you that you try to fill with so many things, nothing and no one else will be able to satisfy.

It is only the one with whom you were created to be one. Jehovah God.

But as we know, one thing stands in the way between us and God. You see, God is holy. Since sin is everything which brings death and destruction, and since God is life and love, sin cannot enter his presence.

We read in the book of Romans that "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." We read on that "The payment for sin is death." But it doesn't stop there... "But the free gift of God is eternal life..." And how does he bring us eternal life, we who have already chosen death by our actions of death called sin? "The free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Please stand to your feet and touch-click the pulpit for a notecard. And if you have not tasted of the intoxicating wine of an intimate love relationship with God through Jesus who paid our sin debt of death for us, then today you can finally be at peace, knowing that you are made right with God, and that he can look upon you and see no sin, and no fault, for when he sees you who are walking with Jesus, he sees Jesus, and he sees you as perfect.

Don't shy away from being in favor with God. It's so important to him, that he paid the ultimate price. Jesus died the most cruel, horrible death known to man, simply so you would have the choice to either turn your back on him and choose eternal death in hell, or embrace him and choose eternal life in heaven.

Remember, sin is that which brings death. Don't serve death any longer. Scripture tells us that "he has called you out of the darkness, and into his marvelous light." Come into the light. Come to Jesus!

He's already standing at your heart's door knocking. All you have to do is answer the door and ask him to come in. It's really that simple.

Just say right now where you are, "Jesus," that's right, just talk to him; "Jesus, I choose now to open the door of my heart to you. Come into my heart. I give my heart to you. Forgive me for my sins which have separated me from you. Wash me clean. Make me brand new. And I will walk with you all the days of my life. Thank you Lord. Amen."

Let's give him praise for never turning any of us away! Thank you Jesus for your love for us! Thank you for your unending mercy, and for your forgiveness that you pour out upon us the moment we ask. Thank you Holy Spirit that you are here with us right now, and that you live within the praises of your people.

We invite you, Holy Spirit, to fill this assembly, and to have your way with us today. And we each invite you to fill the rooms where we are, and the homes, and our inner lives, and breath in us the work that you want to work in us today.

Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you over evil a victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood.

There is power, power, wonder working power
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide;
There's wonderful power in the blood.

Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood;
Sin stains are lost in its life giving flow.
There's wonderful power in the blood.

Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There's wonderful power in the blood.

For thou O Lord art high
     above all the earth
You are exalted far above all gods.

And I exalt thee, I exalt thee, I exalt thee
     O Lord

To him who sits on the throne
     and unto the Lamb
To him who sits on the throne
     and unto the Lamb
Be blessing and honor and glory
     and power forever

Lord, we thank you for touching us today with your presence. Thank you that we are able to meet together to worship you and to bask in your wonderful love. Speak to us now. May we have ears that hear what the Spirit would have us hear. And it's in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

You may be seated.

Last week we talked about gifts. We talked about the importance of every single gift that God has placed inside of you, and how those gifts can and should manifest in our normal, every-day lives and interactions with others.

I'm not convinced, because I've been on the other side of this coin myself, that all of us REALLY believe we have gifts. I know some of us believe that God can't really use us.

Perhaps you have an issue you're struggling with, and you think you can't be used until you have overcome.

Perhaps you have been told your whole life that you're stupid, ugly, useless, that you'll never amount to anything, and now you find it very difficult to think anything good about yourself and the shining potential God has placed within you.

Perhaps you have tried in the past and failed, and you are afraid to try again.

But my question to you is this: What measure of authority are you attributing to the idea that some of God's Word does not apply to you?

Scripture tells us that "you are wonderfully and fearfully made."

Let's take a moment to read Psalm chapter 139, verses one through 18, and remember that this is about God... and about YOU.

O LORD, you have searched me
       and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
       you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;
       you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue
       you know it completely, O LORD.

You hem me in—behind and before;
       you have laid your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
       too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
       Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
       if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
       if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,
       your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
       and the light become night around me,"

even the darkness will not be dark to you;
       the night will shine like the day,
       for darkness is as light to you.

For you created my inmost being;
       you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
       your works are wonderful,
       I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
       when I was made in the secret place.
       When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body.
       All the days ordained for me
       were written in your book
       before one of them came to be.

How precious are your thoughts toward me, O God!
       How vast is the sum of them!

Were I to count them,
       they would outnumber the grains of sand.
       When I awake,
       I am still with you.

You are not an accident. You are not a mistake. You are not worthless. You are not unloved.

God lovingly formed you in your mother's womb. He placed within you the strengths and weaknesses that make you who you are, special, unique, unreplaceable, and priceless.

He knows you far more intimately than you could ever dream of knowing yourself. He sees your struggles. He sees your failures. He knows your every thought. And he loves you so deeply and accepts you so completely, that if you ever caught a glimpse of how much, you would never be the same.

Finding your giftings starts with acknowledging there is something within you worth finding.

Who are we to say that what God has carefully and lovingly formed is worthless?

Who are we to say that what God has planned from before time began is small?

Who are we to say that the person the King of the Universe wishes to wrap up in his splendor and majesty, the person who the Creator of the sun and the moon wishes to call his friend, his partner, and his royal daughter or son is worthy of anything less than our greatest respect and adoration?

YOU are that person. Your worth is unmeasureable.

The giftings inside you are what God has planned from before time began. What lies within you and you alone is of the utmost importance and beauty.

YOU are that person who the King of the Universe wishes to wrap up in his splendor and majesty. YOU are that person who the Creator of the sun and the moon and the stars wishes to call his friend, his partner, and his royal daughter or son. You are worthy of nothing less than my greatest respect and adoration, as well as all those around you; and they are worthy too.

It's not ME who makes myself worthy. Sometimes it seems as though all I do is make mistakes. But the masterpiece God has spent my whole life building, which started many years before I was born, and the spiritual blood of Jesus which flows through my veins, and the precious Holy Spirit who lives inside me, daily becoming one with me, and who is bringing to life those dormant jewels and treasures which have been inside me all along, these are worthy, these are priceless, these are more than I can dare to try to understand.

The enemy has been fighting you your whole life. In fact, he started before you were even born.

He knows there's something inside of you, although he cannot know you intimately as God does.

He knows that if you are brought to spiritual life by having your sins forgiven and having fellowship with the life-breathing Holy Spirit, you just might start to get glimpses of your potential, and the Holy Spirit will begin to breath words of love and life and promise to you. So that is the first thing your enemy does: he does his best to keep you from giving your life to Jesus.

He will place into your mind thoughts of fear, thoughts of imagined intelligence that is contrary to the truth, thoughts of the imagined good things that you'd have to give up; because he knows once God breathes life into you, your eyes will begin to open, and you will begin to see what you're made of, and that you are a work of art created by the Master himself.

If that does not work and you come into the family of God, he will bring against you every single device that God allows. Rejection, loss, sickness, confusion, worry, doubt, turmoil, separation, division, criticism of others and of yourself; his goals are to get you to take your eyes off Jesus and place them on ANYTHING else -- your circumstances, your goals, your posessions, or yourself.

And make no mistake; the longer your eyes are off of Jesus and on to anything else, the less light will be in your spiritual eyes, and the more distorted everything else will become.

For us to see anything as it is, including our circumstances, our purpose, our giftings, and ourselves, we must set our eyes upon Jesus. He is light, he is clarity, he is true understanding and true wisdom.

Apart from him we are nothing. Just like a lightbulb is just a meaningless piece of glass and metal when it is not plugged in to the light socket, so we are just directionless, misguided bits of flesh when we are not plugged in to the Spirit of God.

But when we keep our eyes on our source of light and life, and when we plug in to the power source and live in the Spirit, not in the flesh, then all the dormant wealth of splendor, the giftings within us, begin to come to life.

So what are your gifts? What has God placed inside of you?

We will be talking about this more, and as a family and as a team, we will work together to discover new layers of giftings and potentials God has carefully woven into the intricate fabric of your soul.

But I wish to leave you with this promise and this question:

Within you lies a vast wealth of worth, a powerful purpose, a completely unique, unreplaceable, and priceless treasure trove, the offspring of pure love.

And the question is, what is it?

I will tell you this, you will never fully know the answer. And once you are filled more with God's Spirit, your focus will be on the highest goal and prize of all.

With this assurance that you are worth more than you can dare to imagine, that you are purposefully and wonderously made, and that within you lies treasure so powerful and priceless that all of hell has done its best to keep you away from God and to keep your eyes off Jesus, seek for the presence of God like never before.

He is your light to see this wonderous beauty inside. And with your eyes anywhere else and without his Spirit within you, you will never really see it, and it will die with you having never been brought to life and having never had the chance to make you all you were meant to be.

Stand with me please, and I will ask the ministry team to come stand across the front.

If you are ready to start on that journey to discovering what God has placed within you, come to the front now.

If you need to begin a relationship with God, accepting Jesus into your heart and being born again, come to the front now.

If you have had your eyes on other things and want to place your eyes back on Jesus, come to the front now.

If you simply are not sure what your giftings, callings, and purposes are in life, come to the front now.

Instant Message one of the ministry team and we will talk and pray with you.

To the rest, I hope you'll join us next door in a few minutes for our time of fellowship.

May the grace of God sustain you. May the peace of God comfort you. May the joy of God uphold and strengthen you. And may your eyes be fixed upon Jesus, so that you can clearly see the beauty and splendor he has created not only in the rest of creation, but the dazzling splendor he has created within you, and within me. Amen.
