Let's all stand to our feet and open today's service with prayer.
Lord, thank you for your gift to us of today, another day to live for you and to pursue the path and purpose you have for each one of us.
We'd like to take a moment to pray for the needs that have been presented to us this past week.
We pray for Tamara's housing situation, and ask that you give her peace, and that you open up doors and bring in the resources needed to supply her needs.
We pray for James, who is in a fierce spiritual battle. We ask that you surround him with strong believers who will pray with him and help to hold him up as he tears down strongholds and closes any doors that have been open to the enemy. We know that you work all things together for the good of those who love you and are the called according to your purpose, and we ask for a deep peace to settle on James, as he seeks after you with his whole being.
We pray for Kiwi, and for the problems with which Kiwi struggles. We ask that you bring disorder into order, and that your Kingdom order would be established and begin to strengthen and grow in Kiwi's life.
And Lord, I pray for this congregation today, that you would minister to each and every one. Come, Holy Spirit, and bring us into the Holy of Holies, as we worship our God and our King in spirit and in truth.
And we pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus.
Remain standing and click the pulpit for a notecard. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
I WALK BY FAITH
I walk by faith
Each step by faith
To live by faith
I put my trust in You
I walk by faith
Each step by faith
To live by faith
I put my trust in You
Every step I take
Is a step of faith
No weapon formed against me shall prosper
And every prayer I make
Is a prayer of faith
And if my God is for me
Who can be against me
YES LORD YES
Yes, Lord, yes, to Your will and to Your way
Yes, Lord, yes, I will trust You and obey
When Your Spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I'll agree
And my answer will be yes, Lord, yes!
YOU ARE CROWNED
You are crowned with many crowns
And rule all things in righteousness
You are crowned with many crowns
Upholding all things by Your word
You rule in power
And reign in glory
You are Lord
Of heaven and earth
You are Lord of all
You are Lord of all
You are Lord of all
You are Lord of all
Thank you Jesus! Thank you for your presence. Thank you for your sweet Holy Spirit. Thank you for openening the way into the Holy of Holies by your blood. And thank you that you have purchased us and have reconciled us to God.
Bless the reading of your Word, and may the seeds of your Word find fertile soil in us, in Jesus' name.
You can be seated.
For the past eight weeks we've been talking about praying using the prayer outline Jesus gave us, commonly called "The Lord's Prayer." Today we will wrap up this series with the final part, "Thine is the Kingdom, the Glory, and the Power forever and ever. Amen," and then together we will have a time of prayer using the outline.
So what does the phrase, "Thine is the kingdom, the glory, and the power," really mean?
In part three of this series, we talked about the Kingdom of God, "Thy Kingdom Come." If you missed that or any other part of this series, you can listen to all the past messages by going to almcyberchurch.org and clicking the "Service Audio Archives" link.
By saying, "Thine is the kingdom," we are affirming his sovereignty over every area of our lives, and ultimately over all that has ever been created.
By saying, "Thine is the glory," we are relinquishing our own claim to glory in anyone or anything besides him, and are recognizing that everything that is good, praiseworthy, and glorious are of and belong to him and him alone.
By saying, "Thine is the power," we are reaffirming our total surrender to him, and are recognizing that all power belongs to him, and there is nobody and nothing that is not at the total mercy of that power. We are also admitting that the pinicle of our own power is utter weakness, and without him we can do nothing.
By saying, "Thine is the kingdom, the glory, and the power forever and ever," we are praising the eternal nature of God, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and who does not change, for in him there is no shifting or shadow of change. Time cannot wear away at his greatness, for time itself is of his own design and is subject to his limitless power.
The word "amen" is translated in the Strong's lexicon like this: "So it is, so be it, and may it be fulfilled."
By saying "So it is," we are agreeing with the Word of God and the words of praise and surrender we have offered to God.
We have acknowledges him as our Father, and so he is.
We have acknowledges him as our soverign, the Lord Most High, the Everlasting God, the all-sufficient God, the Eternal Creator, our Provider, our Banner, our Healer, our Peace, our Righteousness, our Sanctifier, the Lord of Hosts, God with us, our Shepherd, our Maker, and our God; and so he is.
And we have ascribed to him the kingdom, the glory, and the power forever as his and his alone, and so it is.
By saying, "So be it," we are agreeing to the actions of God as a result of our time of prayer with him.
And by saying, "May it be fulfilled," we are giving a final declaration of our desire to see his kingdom be established in and around us, his will to be done in perfect kingdom order, our spiritual and physical needs to be supplied, our sins to be forgiven, our paths to be ordered by him, and for deliverance from evil.
And this is where we put everything we've learned over the past two months into practice. I'm going to lead the prayer, following the prayer points found in the Lord's Model Prayer. And I want you to pray along. I will pause briefly between each point and will actually read the point just so you will know we're moving to the next one, and then you can pray along in ways that are specific to your life and your relationship with God. It may be easier and flow more naturally if you don't type your prayer, but just pray it where you are between you and God.
The purpose for doing this is to give you an example of how one might use the prayer outline during an actual time of prayer. I'm not going to stretch out each point like you might do during your personal time of prayer, but will pray just enough to demonstrate how one might use this outline as a guide.
You can feel free to stand or kneel around the altar or where you are, anything that will help you enter into an attitude of prayer.
Our Father Which Art In Heaven
Father God, thank you for this brand new day! Thank you that you give me breath and life today, and thank you that you have made me a part of your family! Thank you Father for correcting me yesterday when my attitude was wrong. That just proves that I'm your child and you love me! Father, I want to be more like you!
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Lord, you are holy, and holy is your name! Your name is above every other name, and at the name of Jesus every knee will bow!
Lord, you are El Shaddai, the All-Sufficient One, the Lord God Almighty. Lord God, you are all I need. You are the one who brings your Word and your promises to pass, and I worship you as my all-sufficiency, my all in all.
Lord, you are El Elyon, The Most High God, My Redeemer. My situation looks hopeless right now, but just as you delivered the enemies of your people into their hand time and time again as they sought after you, so I know you are the Most High God over my enemies and situations, too, and I praise and worship you because you are great and greatly to be praised! You alone redeem me from the pit, and set my feet on a solid rock. And I know you will deliver me from the hand of the enemy, and from these things that have had me bound. Lord, I put all my trust in you!
Lord, you are Adonai, my Lord and Master. I don't understand everything you've told me to do, and I don't see how things will turn out as I obey you. But I choose to submit to you as Adonai, my Lord and Master, and just as you fulfilled your impossible promises to Abraham, I know that every single word you've spoken to me is true. All your promises are yes and amen, and you alone can bring them to pass!
You are Jehovah Nissi, the Lord My Banner. You hold me up when I'm too weak to go on. Lord, all my strength is in you! May everything I do and say, and even every meditation of my heart, lift you up and reflect the beauty of your holiness.
You are Jehovah Raah, My Shepherd, and I put all my trust in you. I choose today to not hear any voice but yours, and to not follow any other path but the one on which you are leading.
Lord, you are Jehovah Rapha, My Healer. I know that the diabetes I have is not from you. You are the God who heals me! And I speak the name of Jehovah Rapha over the name of diabetes. Lord, let the healing power of your presence wash over me. You alone are my healer, and I put all my faith in you alone!
You are Jehovah Shammah, You Are Here. I know that you are with me wherever I go. You are my ever present help in times of trouble. You are my constant companion, my Father, my teacher, my friend. It is such a joy and an honor to have you always with me! Thank you, thank you, thank you that you will never leave or forsake me, but will be closer than the breath I breathe for all eternity! I love you Lord!
Lord, you are Tsidkenu, You Are My Righteousness. All my own righteousness is like filthy rags, so I surrender all my own works into your hands today. May I do nothing of my own devices, but may I do only what you would have me do. I know Lord that everything you do is righteous and just, and I put my confidence completely in you. Help me to walk in your righteousness today, and may the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing and acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
Lord, you are Jehovah Mekoddish(kem), My Sanctifier. It is only by the blood of Jesus that I can come into your presence as though I had never sinned. Thank you for cleansing me from all unrighteousness! I ask that you would purify me Lord. Increase my disdain for unrighteousness. May I never count the blood as an unholy thing or an excuse for compromise. Cleanse and purify my heart, O Lord! Make me holy!
Lord, you are Jehovah Jireh, My Provider. Thank you that you make sure I have food to eat and a place to live. Forgive me for taking all your provisions for granted. You and you alone are the source of everything I have and everything I need, and I thank you and praise you for providing all my needs according to your riches in glory!
Lord, you are Jehovah Shalom, You Are My Peace. Thank you for your peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you that no matter what I'm going through, as long as I keep my eyes on you, you will keep me in perfect peace as I put my trust in you.
Lord, you are Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts, the King of Armies. Thank you for leading me in battle! Thank you that you have won the victory overy the enemy, and that I am more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ my Lord!
And Lord, you are the Great I Am. You are all I need. You are the beginning and the end, the first and the last, and I praise and worship you for who you are!
Thy Kingdom Come
Lord, I seek your Kingdom and your righteousness above all else today. I surrender to your authority. Lord, may your Kingdom order be established in my life today. Bring to my attention anything that is not in line with your order and your ways, anything that is not according to your nature and is not pleasing to you. Reveal any wicked way in me, Lord.
I pray for your Kingdom order to be established in my home. I know we don't spend enough time seeking after you together as a family, and I ask that you forgive us and help us to seek more earnestly together after you.
I pray for your Kingdom order to be established on my job. I get so wrapped up in the things of the day that it's easy to let things slide in my own attitudes or actions that don't reflect your nature and don't bring glory to you. I ask that you remind me today when I start to go in the wrong direction.
I pray for your Kingdom order to be established in my church. We want to see more of your glory, more of your power, more of your manifest presence so we can be the highly-effective force you want us to be in our community and in the world. I pray against any spirits of division or deception, in the name of Jesus! And reveal anything in me that would hold us back from what you have for us.
Thy Will Be Done On Earth As It Is In Heaven
Lord, I seek your will today. Sure, I have schedules and plans, but first and foremost I want to follow you. I give you full permission to mess up my plans if they interfere with yours. Have your way in and through me today, Lord! And help me to listen more closely to you, and to hear your voice when you speak. I don't want to obey fear, doubt, and convenience, but I want to obey you. Give me power and boldness to say what you'd have me say, go where you'd have me go, and do what you'd have me do. And help me to obey immediately without hesitation. I'm not interested in just getting by with the bare minimum. I choose to embrace your will, whatever that might be.
I know your Word says that I'm supposed to do all things to your glory. Lord, forgive me for ignoring your will in this area, and for doing things for my own glory or out of my fleshly, carnal nature. Change me Lord! I want to obey your will, both when you speak to me by your Spirit and what you've already said to my in your Word.
Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread
I ask Lord that you would speak to me today. I desperately need manna from heaven to feed my soul today. I need your Holy Spirit with me, and your Word to guide me. I don't know everything that could happen today, but you do, and I ask that you prepare me for what is coming my way today.
Lord, you see our financial situation. I know that you are our provider. It's not me or my job, it's you. And so I ask that you bring in the finances we need today, in Jesus' name.
Forgive Us Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors
Lord, I ask that you forgive me for my sins against you. And anything I do without even thinking of it as sin, I ask for your forgiveness. Speak to me by your Holy Spirit when I do things that are not pleasing to you. I desperately need your mercy and forgiveness, for on my own and compared to you, I am desperately wicked. Change me a little bit more today, Lord, into your image. I want to be more like you!
And Lord, fill me with your spirit of forgiveness today. Help me to not hold a grudge for even an instant no matter what anyone does against me today. And if there is anyone against whom I'm harboring any unforgiveness, please reveal it to me quickly so I can forgive them and release them to you right away.
Lead Us Not Into Temptation, But Deliver Us From Evil
Lord, I still have a major struggle with a certain temptation that you know in private, and I ask for your help today so that I do not fall to that temptation. Lead me in your paths today, in paths that lead to righteousness and not temptation. And Lord, I have decided to drive home a different way today so I will not fall. Give me power and wisdom to live a pure and holy life so I can glorify you with all I am and all I say, think, and do.
And I ask for your protection today. I know the enemy has a bullseye on me and will do all he can to make me fall. And I speak right now against the plans of the enemy, and any attacks against me, in Jesus' name. Satan you are defeated, and the blood which covers my soul is against you! You have no rights to any part of my life! Lord, I surrender every area of my life to you. If I have opened any doors or left any cracks for the enemy to come in, reveal them to me now. And I resist you, satan, in Jesus' name, and command you to flee from me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper!
And I pray for protection for my wife today, Lord. May your angels surround her and watch over her. I speak against any tricks, traps, or attacks of the enemy, any plans the enemy would have against her today, in Jesus' name, and I plead the blood of Jesus over Jen's mind, emotions, body, and property today. Any power of the enemy over her is broken, in Jesus' name!
For Thine is the Kingdom, Glory, and Power Forever and Ever. Amen.
And Lord, I worship you! You alone are King of Kings and Lord of Lords! All glory and honor belong to you, my father, my king, my master, my savior. I belong to you. All I have belongs to you. All my hopes and dreams belong to you. My life belongs to you. Every breath I breathe belongs to you. And I gladly surrender it all into your hand, both today and tomorrow and for all eternity, you are God!
Let's continue in prayer and worship until the Lord releases you to go, at which time you can make your way to the room on your left for a time of fellowship.
If you need prayer or ministry, feel free to instant message someone on the ministry team.
Lord, thank you for teaching us by your Word a little more about how to pray. I ask that this would not just collect dust in our mental bookshelf, but that we would put it into practice, and beginning tomorrow morning, start each and every day with prayer and worship, and read your Holy Word of Life.
I pray a special blessing upon each and everyone one here today, Lord or listening or reading later. Draw us into your presence, deeper and deeper, and transform us by your Holy Spirit.
And it's in Jesus' name we pray.
