EVEN THE MOUNTAINS
We praise you Lord because you're worthy
You are Lord and King of the earth and sky
Let us lift you up and declare your glory
Let us lift our hands and our voices high
Even the mountains praise your name
the rocks and the stones cry Holy!
Whoever seeks for your face
will never be the same
Let your kingdom come
in Jesus' name
I'm an instrument, I am only a vessel
Help me open up to receive your love
Let us put to death thoughts of opposition
Let me step aside and point the world to above
SHOUT TO THE LORD
My Jesus, My Savior
Lord there is none like You
All of my days, I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My Comfort, My Shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You
Shout to the Lord, all the earth
Let us sing. Power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I'll love you, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in
SOMETHING ABOUT THAT NAME
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name.
NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES
Jesus, name above all names
Beautiful Savior, glorious Lord.
Emmanuel, God is with us.
Blessed Redeemer, Living word.

You may have heard me mention a couple of times "Planet X" and its visit near the end of the year 2012. Someone contacted me asking about that, and they did some additional research which brought to light some serious questions.
That's one reason I really appreciate it when people do their own research and aren't afraid to show me what they find, even if, and especially if, it disagrees with something I've said.
The year 2013 may very well come and go without any major global disasters taking place in 2012. Whether there is such a thing as "Planet X" or not, in the mid 1800s, there was a major solar storm which wiped out telegraph systems. If a similar storm were to happen today, it could wipe out our electrical and communications grids and leave us without power for up to a year or more. Some specialists are suggesting another large solar storm could take place some time in 2012.
I'm mentioning all this today because I want to point out a very important difference between all this speculation about planets and years and what the Word of God says.
There may or may not be a "Planet X." The year 2012 may or may not mark the beginning of the global disasters foretold in the book of Revelation.
Throughout history, dooms days have come and gone. Not too long ago, the year 2003 was supposedly the year Planet X was going to pass by, wreaking havok on our planet. Before that, the year 2000 was supposed to mark the collapse of civilization as we know it because all the computers were supposed to stop working.
April 23, 1843 was, according to William Miller, supposed to be the time marked in Scripture that the end would come.
In 1881, an astronomer discovered the deadly gas in the tail of Hailey's Comet, a gas related to cyanide. By 1910, earth would pass through the tail of this comet, and life on earth could very well be wiped out.
1982 was supposed to be the year the world would be judged and come to an end, according to a popular televangelist, who in many ways has been used mightily by God.
Don't forget the space ship that was supposedly following the Hale-Bopp comet. We know this as "Heaven's Gate," and a group of people killed themselves on March 26, 1997, so they could join the visitors from outer space.
A prophecy by Nostradamus seemed to point to August 1999 as the beginning of Armageddon.
May 5 of the year 2000 was the date in which, according to someone from NASA, the planets would be aligned in the heavens in such a way that would cause a great ice age, freezing mankind to death.
Ronald Weinland said that by the end of 2006, "there will be a maximum time of two years remaining before the world will be plunged into the worst time of all human history. By the fall of 2008, the United States will have collapsed as a world power, and no longer exist as an independent nation." By 2008, hundreds of millions of people would have died.
And now comes 2012, in which year, if earth is not torn to pieces by Planet X, we will be plunged back into the stone ages by a solar storm.
Now, I'd like to mention here that a major power grid disruption has been expected from a number of sources, including Christian prophecy, national security experts, and others, with expected causes ranging from Planet X to a solar storm to a terrorist attack.
Whether that will happen in 2012, 2011, tomorrow, or a century from now, only time will tell. There IS significant evidence that humanity seems to know when something major is about to happen. If you find this interesting, you might want to take a look at the Princeton EGG project, found at global-mind.org. These scientific findings could help explain why there are so many people come up with so many different theories, but many of them have power and communications failures in common.
But here's the point I'd like to make with all this:
Theories come and go. Many prophecies turn out to be false. Science turns out to be mistaken. We seem to always be looking toward the next date that will spell the end of the world as we know it.
But only one thing is certain, and that is that "God is true and every man a liar," as it says in Romans 3:4.
We don't always MEAN to lie, or even know that what we're saying isn't true. But we can't put too much stock in what mankind says.
It's almost funny when you think about it... For thousands of years, we have come up with ideas, and have been absolutely certain we were right. And then our world comes crashing down around us, as we are dragged kicking and screaming into the realization that we were completely wrong.
And yet, we STILL think we have it figured out.
God cannot be measured and directly and incontrovertibly observed in a lab, so that must mean he doesn't exist.
Darwin's fable about the origin of life seems to make sense and answer a few questions, so that must mean the account in Genesis isn't true.
All the religions of the world have some things in common, so that must mean they're all good, or perhaps they're all bad.
A few years ago, I was talking with a couple of people about Bible translations. These two people were convinced that the King James Version was the only real Bible. One of them made the following argument:
"You know how when someone gives a word from the Lord or an interpretation of a message in tongues, they use King James language? That's because that's the language of the Holy Spirit."
I'm not really sure why I didn't think to say, "Actually, His language is Hebrew, Greek, Yiddish, Spanish, English, Russian, etc." except maybe I was just so stunned by such an unexpectedly rediculous argument.
But it wasn't rediculous to him. It made perfect sense. And before any of us think we're a lot smarter than that, remember our several-thousand-year history.
We thought the earth was flat. We laughed at those who said the earth was round and revolved around the sun. We scoffed at the idea of an electric light or a laptop computer.
We've been wrong time after time after time. And yet we continue to trust the human mind. We just don't seem to learn.
And in addition to this, the Holy Scriptures have turned out to be right time after time after time. And yet we continue to trust human intellect over the Word of God. Isn't that strange?
I sure think it is. But that's our nature, our fallen nature, the fallen nature we took into ourselves by submitting to the lies of satan. By listening to and following him, we became partakers of his pride.
And that's what it all boils down to: Pride.
Why do we think we have it all figured out? Pride.
Why do we not learn from our past mistakes? Pride.
Why do we doubt the Word of God while trusting the word of man? Pride.
Why do we lash out at others and fight amongst ourselves? Pride.
Proverbs 13:10 (KMV) says this:
10 Pride and arrogance produce strife, but with the well advised is wisdom.
The King James puts it this way: "Only by pride cometh contention." That sounds as though the only source of contention and strife is pride. When we see it, we know there is a pride issue. The less strife and contention there is, the more humility there must be.
Unfortunately, we've had to make hard decisions in the past to remove people from the Second Life Christians group who refused to stop attacking people in group chat.
Yes, maybe they have had a rough life. Yes, maybe they have mental problems. Yes, maybe this or that could have contributed to their always managing to start an argument, to always contribute to contention and strife.
But it all boils down to one thing and one thing only: Pride. I have it. You have it. It's part of our carnal, fleshly nature to which the Bible says we must die daily.
But our own pride strips away from us anything worthy of praise.
It separates us from God, while making us think we're closer to God than everyone else.
It convinces us something is true, while blinding us to what truth really is.
It causes us to fight with others we think are stupid and wrong, while keeping us from realizing that WE just might be the ones who are mistaken or at fault.
It causes us to become offended, and to build up bitterness and resentment.
Pride strips us of all true dignity, and blinds us to the truth.
So what does this have to do with doomsday prophecies? Well, nothing directly. I mentioned that just to point out how important it is for us to look into whatever we hear from the pulpit or otherwise before accepting it as true. Just because I mention a mysterious planet that's supposed to bring about things written in Revelation in two years, doesn't mean that's going to happen.
What we DO know for SURE is that we simply don't know. How will the prophecies in the Bible unfold? Ask me after it happens and I'll give you an answer that's a little bit closer to being true.
In the meanwhile, our pride cannot be in mankind, or in prophets, or in science, or in any other thing. If we want to boast, let us boast in the Lord.
HE has done great things. HE knows the beginning to the end. HE knows how everything will unfold, and when. And only HE can save us from our sins, and make us brand new creations.
And if our favorite dooms day date comes and goes, good riddance. It was just a guess of man, and we're wrong a lot more than we're right. Just hold on, the one who never makes a mistake is on his way, and he is always right on time.
Let's declare the doomsday of pride -- the day you declare war on that fleshly, human pride that has steered you in wrong directions and caused every one of us to act and react in ways that are not pleasing to God. Let today be the doomsday for our pride!
Can you see the fruit of pride in your life? I didn't ask if you HAVE pride, only if you can see its fruit. Pride is something we'll all battle 'til the day we die. Well, not all of us -- some of us love our pride and want more of it. But today I'm talking to those of us who love God and want more of him.
James 4:6 tells us that "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." We don't want God to resist us. That's why rooting out pride and humbling ourselves before God is so important. The more pride we have, the more resistance there is between us and God.
Have you ever held two magnets together, and felt the resistance between the two? The more pride we have, the stronger resistance there is from God. If you want to come into His presence, put your pride to death and learn to humble yourself; and just as though you turned your magnet around, you will find yourself being drawn into His presence, as His presence is drawn into your life.
I'd like the ministry team to come stand at the front, as we prepare for a time of ministry and prayer.
And whether you've been walking with God for many years, or you have never come to Him at all, the invitation to you is the same: come humbly before the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and surrender yourself to him -- every part of your life, your heart, your body, your mind -- give yourself completely to Him today, to do His will and to bring glory and honor to His name.
If you're already walking with the Lord, you'll be able to walk with him closer, and if you are in the world and walking in darkness, He will make you a brand new creation today and will turn your life completely around.
And if you're willing to lay aside your pride and to surrender yourself to Jesus on His terms, then you're invited to get out of your seat and make your way to the front.
If you'd like someone to speak or pray with you, feel free to instant message me or someone else on the ministry team. Whenever you need to go, you're dismissed. If you can stay until after this time at the altar, you're invited to make your way to the room on your left where we'll go in a few minutes for some fellowship.
Lord God, forgive us for our never-ending pride that causes us to bicker, that makes us feel spiritually superior, that causes us to be offended and to feel wronged... Humble us, Lord. And help us to humble ourselves before you.
Let's continue this time of prayer, as we wait upon the Lord, offering ourselves to Him as living sacrifices, and seeking with our whole hearts to see His glory.
