He is the King of Kings
He is the Lord of Lords
His name is Jesus, Jesus,
Jesus, Jesus
O, He is the King!

His name is Jesus, Jesus
sad hearts we've no more
He can heal the broken hearted
open wide the prison door
And He's able to deliver evermore!

You are beautiful beyond description
too marvelous for words
Too wonderful for comprehension
like nothing ever seen or heard

Who can grasp your infinite wisdom
who can fathom the depth of your love
You are beautiful beyond description
majesty enthroned above

I stand, I stand in awe of you
I stand, I stand in awe of you
Holy God to whom all praise is due
I stand in awe of you!

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay
The last thing I need is to be heard
But to hear what You would say

Word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

I'm finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
All that I need is to be with You
And in the quiet hear Your voice

Benjamin Psaltery is my husband. He is my husband in real life and in Second Life. He's my Ben. He has seen me at my best and worst, but no one has seen me the way God has. I had a bit of a war within myself as I battled with how to share this fire side chat and if I should. I really, really don't like talking about these kinds of things. The things that I know are so different from me. No one truly sees my dark side...the sin that is in my life.

We cover it up. We push it under the rug, but it jumps out and bites us in the foot! We can't run from it or hide from it. We can't. We just can't get away from our sin. The things that separate us from God. Or rather I should say used to.

I'm going to share a poem I wrote on June 21, 2013. Have a listen.

A War Wages
written June 21, 2013
By Jennifer Lynn Faust

A war wages inside of me
Flesh versus spirit
I die daily, hourly

Moment by moment
I see the dark inside
And know

Any moment at any time
My flesh may win
And when it does

I cry out
Father forgive me
For I know to do right but do wrong

I stand to fall
At Your feet
And another day begins

A war wages inside of me
Flesh versus spirit
I die daily, hourly

Moment by moment
I see the Light within
And know

Only He can lift me up
To help me overcome
And live to do Thy will

A war wages inside of me
Flesh versus spirit
I die daily, hourly

Ok I will tell you this. The title for the fire side chat is “The War Within.” We are going to talk about the war, the battle between flesh and spirit inside of all of us.

Every day...every day this war continues on and on. It seems neverending. It's like The Neverending Story...well sort of. I LOVE that movie! But we would title this The Neverending Battle. But it does end...rather it will end! Until then...we have to choose.

For example in Joshua chapter 24 verses 14 and 15 it says and Joshua is speaking here 14 “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

We must choose every day who we will serve...ourselves, others, gods (little g), or The God...The Creator. We can serve God through serving others, but our TOP priority should ALWAYS be to serve God and Him only!
We have this “flesh man” inside of us...we all do. Don't deny it! It shows its ugly self so many times. Am I the only one that has that happen? Seriously! Flesh gets in the way and of course at times we are flying high. It's so fun! Until the our bubble bursts, the balloon pops, and we go crashing to earth.

We realize that flesh isn't as fun as it used to be. We feel sick, gag, and almost vomit thinking about doing anything in our flesh! Because there's this other entity. Our spirit man. And our spirit man doesn't like sin. Nooooooo way!

So there's this battle that wages on inside. Can you feel it? Have you ever felt it? I mean really...sometimes I feel like I could probably be classified as a psychomaniac or something. I want to hit myself and tell my flesh to “Shape up!” Other times I want to tell my spirit to “Chill out yo!”

I'm not trying to joke or kid, but this is the way I am. I am not telling you this so that you can laugh at me, but so that you can see parts of you.

Am I the only one that feels the battle inside? It's like a huge tug of war and I almost trip over my feet as I walk because of it. In a way, I guess it is funny...but it isn't ya know?

There are places in the Bible that talk about this topic. The reference in Joshua being one of them. Paul talked about this.

Let's look at a few other places.

1 Corinthians 15: 31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

I have realized I don't just die daily to flesh, but every moment, every minutes...second...hour. What about you? Does your flesh overtake you?

Galatians chapter 5 talks about walking in the spirit. Let's take a look starting a verse 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[c] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[d] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Here we see a little about what walking in the spirit is like. The fruits of the spirit. Maybe you ask how does one get this fruit. First, one needs to be born of the spirit. That means making Jesus Lord of your life...believing He saved you from death because of your sin.

And doing this, you will join those of us who are followers of Jesus and are daily fighting to live in the spirit and not the flesh. It is a battle worth fighting. Keep at it! Don't give up! Jesus is your biggest cheerleader and I'm next in line! :) Go Team Jesus Go! :)

Remember that poem I shared? There's a part that talks about Light with a capital “L.” That Light is Jesus...the Light of the world. Any who believe in Him bring this Light, Jesus, along wherever they go.

If you would like this Light, all you need to do is ask Him to be a part of your life, the central part. It's pretty simple really. If you would like to do so know, just tell Him how thankful you are for His gift of life. How much He means to you. That you believe He is the Son of God...the Messiah...the Savior of the world and that He came to set you free. Ask Him to forgive your sins and to wash you clean. Ask Him to guide and direct your life now. End with In Jesus' name Amen.

So if you prayed this prayer, welcome to the family of God! I would love to hear your testimony after the altar call.

Now, back to the fire side chat. Haha. :) Just's important to give people a chance to accept Jesus into their life at any given time.

Having Jesus in my life is awesome, but it is hard, too. Nothing goes the way I want all the time so I must have faith and trust in God that He knows what He is doing. Of course He always does.

so...we have this battle, this war within. And it isn't any means.

Follow brothers and sisters in Christ, if you are struggling with this battle...maybe the flesh is winning more times than it should. I ask you...are you tired of it? Are you tired of giving up things so your flesh wins? Are you willing to come to the altar and lay your flesh there?

So hard...but we must die daily to our flesh so we can live the lives God has for us. Come and join me here, friends. We will battle together and win!

We have the Victor on our side. Burn up that flesh...sounds icky I know...but burn up the part of yourselves that isn't of God. Let Him refine you in His fire.

Come and lay it here. This altar is open. Come and pray for whatever is in your life that you need prayer for. If you need someone to talk to or wish someone to pray with you, instant message Ben, myself, or someone else on the staff and we will be happy to help you. Or if you're listening outside of Second Life, go to, click Prayer Room or Pastors' Offices, and contact us there.

You are all free to leave whenever you wish. After this time at the altar, we will have a time of fellowship in the room to your left up the stairs, and I hope you'll come join us there.

May God bless you as you fight the war within and give heed to The Light, The Prince of Peace, Son of God, Emanuel God with us!
