by Benjamin R. Faust

I have a reason to rejoice
I have a reason to clap my hands
I have a reason to lift my voice
and sing praises to the great I Am

I have a reason to move my feet
and take the Gospel into the street
I have a reason to lose my will
and let Jesus take full control

For you have set my feet to dancin'
You have filled my heart with joy
You have freed me from my passions
and filled me with the Holy Ghost

You have set my heart on fire
Fill my soul with your desire
and Melt me Lord 'til
only you remain!

by Benjamin R. Faust

Lord, You've been so good to me
You gave me sight when I was blind
You showed me light I could not see
You brought me truth I could not find

Lord, You've been so good to me
You paid a debt I could not pay
You turned my darkest night to day
Lord You've been so good to me!

And so I praise You in the morning
and I praise You in the night
For You are my Salvation
You are my Guiding Light
So I give You my everything
I just can't give You less
When You sent Your Son to love me
You gave me Your best!

Lord, You've been so good to me
You set my feet on solid ground
You rescued my life from the grave
when no other help could be found
Lord, You've been so good to me
and I could never repay
All the love You gave so freely
Lord, You've been so good to me!

Lord You've been so good to me
Lord You've been so good to me (better than I deserve)
Lord You've been so good to me
You paid a debt I could not pay
You turned my darkest night to day
Lord You've been so good to me

Lord You've been so good to me
Lord You've been so good to me (you're good all the time)
Lord You've been so good to me
and I could never repay
All the love You gave so freely
Lord You've been so good to me

You gave me Your best!
You gave me Your best!

Lord, You've been so good to me.

lyrics by Munster Gesangbuch
music by Schlesische Volkslieder

Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature,
O thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
thou, my soul's glory, joy, and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands,
robed in the blooming garb of spring:
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer
who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight,
and all the twinkling starry host:
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
than all the angels heaven can boast.

Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration,
now and forevermore be thine.

Father God, thank You for this time of worship and for this time of being in Your presence. Help us to continue to focus on You and to allow Your grace, love, and mercy to overwhelm us. I ask that You would give me Your words to speak. I am a vessel for You to use. I ask that I only do Your will. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Please be seated.

I hope you all had a great week. I hope you all with bare with me as I speak. Right now, I am unsure of what the topic will be. I have ideas, but not one is coming to the surface as the topic. I have decided that I am going to just start typing and pray that God would show me the way.
I hope you won't think I am taking this lightly. I'm not. I want God to guide me and to direct the path on which He wishes this fireside chat to go. So I wait for Him to speak to me.

So, come and sit with me, too. Have you ever just wanted someone to come and sit with you? They didn't need to SAY anything. They didn't even need to DO anything. Just BE with you. I think God can understand that and He knows better than anyone when and how to do that.

Since I am the one who is giving this fireside chat, I can't really just BE. I have to say something, but I want you to BE here.

Get yourself comfortable. Get yourself something to drink and/or eat. Get yourself to where you can BE with me for the next oh half hour or so maybe.

You know...I realize that sometimes we, I mean you and I, say things we shouldn't. I know I know. “I'm saved by the blood of Jesus, Mari! I never say anything I shouldn't!”

Really? What about the words you spoke to someone about someone else? That's called gossip right? Or the words of hate you yelled at someone? Was that something you should have said?

What about when you were hurt and you let your words come out in sorrow-filled sentences? You didn't do anything wrong. You were wanting someone to care. To empathize.

How about words of joy? Or Love? Or happiness?

Words of praise your boss gave you? Words you sang in worship?

How important are our words that we say daily?

Because you know...God hears every word you say and the ones you don't. The thoughts you think that are hidden inside...He knows those, too.

Colossians 3:17 says “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Now, I am be wrong about this, but I take this verse to me whatever I SAY and whatever I DO...I should do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.

How can we gossip, say hateful things, swear, curse, or whatever else that is hurtful or degrading...how can we do all those things in the name of Jesus? Jesus never did those things! How can we if we are His disciples? How can we as God's children do such things?

If you can't find something nice to say, don't say anything. And then there are the thoughts...what about thoughts?
Have you ever heard someone say that satan can see their thoughts? Are you serious?? That is NOT true! Satan can not SEE your thoughts. He doesn't know them. He is not able to know everything! Don't give him the ability to do something he can't do!

Okay so God can hear us when we talk to others, when we talk to Him, and knows our thoughts. What should we do?
The God of the universe...He made it all...He knows all. And we know what we say and what we think! Have you figured it out? I titled this fireside chat He Hears You.

So since He Hears You, what are you going to do? Do you need to change what you say and think? Because you do know that though you might not be able to control all your thoughts, you don't have to allow them to stay in your mind.

Like our pastor in Virginia used to say, “You can't stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop them from building a nest in your hair.” I think it might have been quoted from someone else, but he said it a lot. :)

Let's try this. Let's try being more mindful of what we say and what we think. If we can do that, we will change the world around us. We can change the atmosphere in the room.

Just think, if we walk into a room where gossip was going on and heard it, but didn't spread it. What would happen?

Or if we hear someone say something hurtful to someone. What would happen if we spoke up? What if we said “You shouldn't say such things to people.”

So what if some people start distancing themselves from you. So what if some people start to glare. If you can change the atmosphere of a room from negative to positive, wouldn't it make you feel good?

Speaking words of praise, love, care, and other positive things will make you feel better. You will feel like the sun is always shining even in the midst of a storm.

Today's altar call is this. I want you to talk to God. I want you to tell Him that you are sorry for saying things you shouldn't. I want you to tell Him that you want Him to help you change. I want you to promise to Him and yourself to do better and MEAN IT! He will help you and you'll feel so much better.

If you need prayer or ministry while this time is going on, please instant message one of the ministry team members. We will be happy to help you in any way we can.

If you are listening outside Second Life or later on you want to contact us, please go to almcyberchurch.org and click the pastors' offices. Leave us a message and we will reply as soon as we can.

After this time at the altar, we will have fellowship up the stairs to your left. All of you are invited to join us.

You are free to go when you need to do so.

Thank you for being here today.

May God bless you this week. May He give you positive words to say and times of just being with Him and others.

Go in His peace.
