lyrics by Henry van Dyke
music by Ludwig van Beethoven

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flow'rs before Thee,
Op'ning to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
Drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day!

All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
Earth and heav'n reflect Thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around Thee,
Center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flow'ry meadow, flashing sea,
Singing bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in Thee.

Thou art giving and forgiving,
Ever blessing, ever blest,
Wellspring of the joy of living,
Ocean depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our Brother,
All who live in love are Thine;
Teach us how to love each other,
Lift us to the joy divine.

Mortals, join the happy chorus,
Which the morning stars began;
Father love is reigning o'er us,
Brother love binds man to man.
Ever singing, march we onward,
Victors in the midst of strife,
Joyful music leads us Sunward
In the triumph song of life.

by Benjamin R. Faust

Lord, You've been so good to me
You gave me sight when I was blind
You showed me light I could not see
You brought me truth I could not find

Lord, You've been so good to me
You paid a debt I could not pay
You turned my darkest night to day
Lord You've been so good to me!

And so I praise You in the morning
and I praise You in the night
For You are my Salvation
You are my Guiding Light
So I give You my everything
I just can't give You less
When You sent Your Son to love me
You gave me Your best!

Lord, You've been so good to me
You set my feet on solid ground
You rescued my life from the grave
when no other help could be found
Lord, You've been so good to me
and I could never repay
All the love You gave so freely
Lord, You've been so good to me!

Lord You've been so good to me
Lord You've been so good to me (better than I deserve)
Lord You've been so good to me
You paid a debt I could not pay
You turned my darkest night to day
Lord You've been so good to me

Lord You've been so good to me
Lord You've been so good to me (you're good all the time)
Lord You've been so good to me
and I could never repay
All the love You gave so freely
Lord You've been so good to me

You gave me Your best!
You gave me Your best!

Lord, You've been so good to me.

lyrics by Munster Gesangbuch
music by Schlesische Volkslieder

Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature,
O thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
thou, my soul's glory, joy, and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands,
robed in the blooming garb of spring:
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer
who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight,
and all the twinkling starry host:
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
than all the angels heaven can boast.

Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration,
now and forevermore be thine.

Father God, thank You for this special time to be in Your presence. I ask that we would allow ourselves to fully rest and just be in Your arms right now. I ask also that You would give me the right words to say and that all who hear my voice would realize anything I say isn't because of me, but because of You. I give You all the glory for I know I am unworthy, but You say otherwise. I just want to do Your will and to follow Your ways the best I can. Help me to do that, Lord. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Please be seated.

Hello, my friends and fellow followers of Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God. I will be honest with you right now. I may not get through this fireside chat without breaking down and crying...really crying because I am holding it together with just a thin thread as I type this.

I want to share what I know is from God, but I won't apologize if I cry while I do it.
I was on Facebook and I saw one of my friend's pictures. It was her daughter at VBS I think. The sign behind the little girl said “Maker Fun Factor.” And this one picture got me to thinking.

God has a factory so to speak where He builds us and repairs us. Just like the part in the Bible about the Potter, I believe that God, the Potter and the Maker of us all uses these things to make us who He wants us to be.

God uses the potter's wheel to mold and shape us. He uses the factory to make us and repair us. And no, we are not the same when we come out of God's factory. We are unique. We all have our own special things about us.

We are all so very special to God that He made me with blonde hair that when the sun touches it the red highlights are seen. It does that naturally. God gave me blue/green eyes. He gave me this fair skin that if I stay out in the sun too much I get sunburn. He made me this way because that was what HE wanted me to be like.

He made YOU the way He wanted you to be! We are all special to Him. Don't believe for a moment that you are NOT special to Him! Get that thought out of your head! He loves you very very much!

I can not make you believe He loves you, but I can try to help you believe it. I mean, He made you in His image and He truly cares and loves you.
If I could just show you how much He loves you. He made you unique and He sees you as something special. He sees you as “good.”

Don't you understand? He made you to be who you are, to be loved by Him. I am not saying you are allowed to sin because that is who you think you are. No. That is not it. You are not your sin! You are more than that!

When God made you, He saw you as someone who He loved even if He knew your life story. He gave you choices. He gave you the chance to choose Him. It all up to you.

I will not stop trying to help you see that Father God, the Maker of Heaven and Earth has done so much for us. Can you not see that His love is eternal? Can you not see that He cares for you?

God sent Jesus to earth to save this world. Jesus died in our place to take our sins upon Himself. Jesus, spotless and blameless, did this for us!

And God sees all that we do. He see and still loves us. We mess up. He loves us. He wants us to choose Him!

He awaits our decision. Will we follow Him and His ways or will we not? Those are the only choices. There is no middle ground. What will you choose?

So, here we are. Yes, this fireside chat was short, but I thought I should just lay it all out there. What will you choose?

If you have already chosen to follow Jesus Christ, then please thank Him for accepting you and for giving His life for you.

If you haven't chosen, why not? For what are you waiting? Why not get it over with today? Why have you not chosen Jesus?

There will come a time when there will be no more chances. Don't let this chance pass you by.
I know that some of you may not want to come to the altar and that is okay. I'd like it if you did come up to the altar though.

This altar call is for everyone. For those who have chosen Jesus already and those who haven't. I want us to take this time to be serious and to make a choice. What will you do?

Father God, thank You for this time for us to be in Your presence. I ask right now that those who have not chosen to follow Jesus that they would make that choice today. I ask that they would allow themselves to open up to You and give their all to You in an act of total surrender to You. I pray that they would cry out to You. I know You will answer their cry. I know You are waiting for them to come. Holy Spirit, speak to them the only way that You can and move their hearts to come to Jesus. I pray this in the name that is above all other names Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, Amen...and Amen!

If you need prayer or ministry, please message one of us on the staff and we will be happy to help you in any way we can.

If you would like to contact the pastors, please go to and click the pastor's offices. Leave us a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

After this time at the altar, we will have fellowship in the room up the stairs to your left. All are welcome to attend.

You are free to leave whenever you need to do so.

May God bless you this week.
May He wrap you in your arms and show you just how much He loves and cares for you.
For He truly truly does love and care for you. Never forget that!

Go in His peace.
