by Edward Mote

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly lean on Jesus' name

On Christ the solid Rock I stand
all other ground is sinking sand
all other ground is sinking sand

When darkness veils His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

On Christ the solid Rock I stand
all other ground is sinking sand
all other ground is sinking sand

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Clothed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne!

On Christ the solid Rock I stand
all other ground is sinking sand
all other ground is sinking sand

by Benjamin R. Faust

Your Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path
Your Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path

No longer do we walk in darkness
No longer do we walk in darkness
No longer do we walk in darkness

For you have called us out of darkness
into your marvelous light
We turn our backs on what is wrong
and choose to do what's right

Your blood is flowing through my veins
to cleanse until all that remains
Is clay that's molded
through the pains of life

Your Spirit blows into these bones
to claim this temple as its home
And starts a fire
that soon becomes a blaze

lyrics by Munster Gesangbuch
music by Schlesische Volkslieder

Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature,
O thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
thou, my soul's glory, joy, and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands,
robed in the blooming garb of spring:
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer
who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight,
and all the twinkling starry host:
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
than all the angels heaven can boast.

Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration,
now and forevermore be thine.

Father God, we have gathered here to worship You in song and in word and deed. We wish to glorify Your name and to learn more of You. Wrap us in Your arms and speak to us as only You can. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Today, I’m going to do a fireside chat. It is going to be a bit different. I am going to speak as someone. An old me, the me I was years ago. Maybe you were like this old me at one time. Please listen. Allow the words I say to enter into your ears. May God use what I say to bring about His will.

There was a time when I saw myself as nothing more than a moth. A creature described as ugly and destructive. I thought I could only be that way. I can’t change myself no matter how hard I try.

My life is empty, void of joy, happiness, and love. I don’t deserve anything that is could be called good. I’m very much alone. Who would want to be around me? I mean I’m ugly and I destroy everything I touch.

My wings can be easily destroyed. I can never be free. I’m a dead soul. I’m dying. Each day brings me closer to death and I can’t do a thing about it!

And so I fed myself these lies. Every single one of these things were lies I listened to when I was younger. I believed that there was no way to save myself. Who would want to save me? I am nothing. Nothing, but a moth. A dead soul in human flesh.

When people believe lies, it is hard to start to trust anyone and the words that people say. It took years for me to believe the words of Father God. He told me that it wasn’t bad necessarily to be a moth, but to be a dead soul was not good. So, He changed me.

He gave me something. He gave me the confidence to believe in myself and to see the truth. He gave me wings to fly and be free. He gave me new life. He gave me joy, happiness, and love. He gave me everything I had be missing. He showed me I was never alone. He changed my dead soul to a living one.

Now, this moth may look more like a butterfly, but it still remembers where it came from. Sometimes this moth still wraps herself in her wings to remember where Father God brought her from. It is good to know...God knows all and see all. He is closer than we know.

Do not be afraid to reach out to Him, to speak to Him. He is there. Even in the darkness, in the storm, where it seems He may not be….He is there, waiting to change us to our new creatures in Him.

Let’s reach out to Him right now.
It’s time for us to spend some time with God. You can do this wherever you like. At the altar. At your desk. On the floor. Anywhere you want to go.

Ask God to change you from death to life. He can do it. Allow Him to do what He alone can do in you. Allow Him to move freely.

Do not be afraid. Allow Holy Spirit to come and minister to you.

If you need prayer or ministry during this time, instant message one of those on the ministry team. You may also send the pastors a message by pointing your browser to and clicking on the pastors’ offices.

After the altar call, we will have a fellowship time up the stairs to your left. All are invited to join us.

If you need to leave, please feel free to do so.

May God bless you this week. May He keep changing you to be more like Him...from glory to glory.
