IN HIS HANDS
Original Music and Lyrics by Obie Philpot
Edits and Additions by Benjamin R. Faust

He has the whole world in His hands
He has the whole world in His hands
He has the whole world in His hands
He has the whole world in His hands

So why should we worry
and why should we fear
When our Heavenly Daddy
is always so near
He is near
He's so near
He's right here!

He has my brothers and my sisters in His hands
He has my brothers and my sisters in His hands
He has my brothers and my sisters in His hands
He has the whole world in His hands

He has the little bitty baby in His hands
He has the widow and the orphan in His hands
He has the business man and beggar in His hands
He has the whole world in His hands

He has the rivers and the mountains in His hands
He has the oceans and the valleys in His hands
He has the seasons and the ages in His hands
He has the whole world in His hands

JOYFUL JOYFUL
lyrics by Henry van Dyke
music by Ludwig van Beethoven

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flow'rs before Thee,
Op'ning to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
Drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day!

All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
Earth and heav'n reflect Thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around Thee,
Center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flow'ry meadow, flashing sea,
Singing bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in Thee.

Thou art giving and forgiving,
Ever blessing, ever blest,
Wellspring of the joy of living,
Ocean depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our Brother,
All who live in love are Thine;
Teach us how to love each other,
Lift us to the joy divine.

Mortals, join the happy chorus,
Which the morning stars began;
Father love is reigning o'er us,
Brother love binds man to man.
Ever singing, march we onward,
Victors in the midst of strife,
Joyful music leads us Sunward
In the triumph song of life.

MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING LESS
by Edward Mote

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly lean on Jesus' name

On Christ the solid Rock I stand
all other ground is sinking sand
all other ground is sinking sand

When darkness veils His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

On Christ the solid Rock I stand
all other ground is sinking sand
all other ground is sinking sand

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Clothed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne!

On Christ the solid Rock I stand
all other ground is sinking sand
all other ground is sinking sand

Father God, thank You for being with us in this time of worship and sharing. May You receive all the glory that is due You. In pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please be seated.

I’m here doing a fireside chat called “With Love From Heaven.” I’m going to share four letters that I think my be from heaven with love from their authors. Now, two of them are my loved ones. One is famous here. The last one is well...I’ll save that for later.

Some of you might have ideas of how loved ones that have passed away might write letters from heaven. Maybe you might want to try writing them. I am not really saying that these people WROTE these. It is just my ideas of what they might write.

So, let’s get started shall we?

The first one is from Anne Frank. She was a Jewish girl famous for her diary. She died at the age of 15 in 1945 in Bergen-Belsen, a concentration camp in Germany.

Her letter to us from heaven could be something like:

Dear Friends,

The world seems to not have learned the lessons of the past. It has repeated events, though with different names.

I have written things like:

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

And also:
“I keep my ideals, because in spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart.”

I want to believe in this world. Please. Live. Live and be happy. Though there is misery, see the beauty there is. In all things. In all people.

With Love From Heaven,
Anne Frank
The next letter is from my grandmother who passed away in April of 1996.

Dear Jenny, (she always called me that)

It seems you have gotten your singing and love for books from me. So much has happened, hasn’t it?

You’ve grown to be a beautiful woman. I’m so proud of you.

I was privileged to talk with you about Jesus that day. I’m so glad you made that decision then. I’ll be waiting for you.

With Love From Heaven,
Grandma Ober

The third one is from my stepdad Ross who passed away in February 2015.

It would go something like this:

Dear Jen,

We are not blood related, but I feel like you were my daughter in the ways it counted. I enjoyed our fun times together. Singing “Eye of the Tiger” at the top of our lungs. Me trying to imitate your voice when you called to talk to your mom.

The last moments I saw you were precious to me. I will see you soon.

With Love From Heaven,
Ross aka Dad

The last one. Well I’m not going to introduce it. Just hear what it would say.

My Beloved,

I can see how the days go for you. Sometimes you call out to me. Sometimes you yell my name in hopes that I will do what you wish. Sometimes you cry out my name in anguish. Sometimes you say my name with love and smile. So many emotions you have, My Child.

I have seen the way you act and react. I see more than you want me to, but that is how it is. You can not hide from me.

Have you not known that I was with you? Could you not tell I was there?

Did you not know I could hear you? I am not deaf.

Could you not feel Me? I touched you then...you know that one time.

And yet...there are times...I try to get your attention and you ignore Me. Please. I am here. I will not go away. I will stay here.

Did you hear Me? I told you that I love you again today...every time...every second of the day I told you. How many more times do I have to say it?

I love you, My Child. I am waiting.
With Love From Heaven,
Father God
Jesus Christ
Holy Spirit

The altar call is this. Wherever you are or want to be...think of some letters that some would send to you from heaven. Maybe even write them down. Then, spend some time with Him. The One Who has written a love letter for us all. Talk to Him. Allow Him to talk to you.

If you need prayer or ministry, please message one of us on the ministry team or go to almcyberchurch.org and leave a message for us there. Just click the pastors’ offices and leave your message. We will reply as soon as we can.

You are all free to go whenever you need to do so.

After this time in prayer and ministry, we will have our usual fellowship gathering up the stairs to your left. All are welcome to attend.

May God Bless you this week.
May He send you letters from heaven with love.
